MENApolis
Le programme MENApolis est le produit d’une convention signée entre l’Association e-Geopolis et le Centre pour l’Intégration Méditerrannéenne de Marseille (CMI). Il est financé par le groupe Caisse des Dépôts et Consignations et commandité par le Département MENA de La Banque Mondiale.
Le programme répond à un double objectif : 1/ caractériser et mesurer l’urbanisation dans 5 pays de la zone MENA (1960-2010) ; 2/ prévoir les tendances à l’horizon 2030. C’est une application particulière du programme e-Geopolis.
Les résultats scientifiques sont présentés ici sous les formes suivantes :
Un Tableau des agglomérations restituant pour chaque agglomération de plus de 10 000 habitants : l’extension physique, les chiffres de population de 1960 à 2010, les projections spatiales et démographiques à l’horizon 2020 et 2030
Une Géovisualisation téléchargeable au format KML (Google earth) avec info bulle proposant un tableau de données pour chacune des agglomérations
Des Tableaux de bord par pays (Egypte , Jordanie, Liban, Maroc, Tunisie) comprenant : un tableau de 52 indicateurs statistiques de l’urbanisation, un tableau des agglomérations projetées en 2030 ainsi qu’un commentaire analytique, des cartes et graphiques

The MENApolis program is the result of an agreement between the non-profit organization e-Geopolis and the Center for Mediterranean Integration (CMI) located in Marseilles, France. The program is funded by the Group Caisse des Dépôts et Consignations and sponsored by The World Bank, MENA Department. The program has a twofold purpose: first, to measure and describe urbanization trends in five countries of the MENA region (Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Tunisia, 1960-2010) ; second, to propose population and spatial projections for each urban agglomeration in 2020 & 2030.
The main scientific findings are displayed in the following formats:
A Table of Urban Agglomerations of 10,000 people or more, with for each agglomeration: population figures from 1960 to 2010, projected population and physical extent in 2020 & 2030.
A Geovisualization tool in KML (Google Earth) format ; a balloon localizes each agglomeration and open a description/data balloon
Five Country Fact Sheets - in french - (Egypt , Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco , Tunisia) that include a list of 52 statistical indicators, maps, graphs and a summary of findings
A Guidebook describing the statistical indicators
